Dearing Report
The report of a committee set up under the chairmanship of Sir Ronald Dearing to examine the setting of accountancy standards in the UK. The report, The Making of Accounting Standards, was published in 1988; this led to the replacement of the Accounting Standards Committee by the Accounting Standards Board and to the establishment of the Financial Reporting Council, the Financial Reporting Review Panel, and the Urgent Issues Task Force
